Preschool

a little about us

St. Matthew's Preschool is an outreach program of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pennington.  It was created in 1971 as an outgrowth of Christian concern and commitment to meet the needs of parish members and their friends.  Our original purpose was to provide "a little bit of leisure time for Mom".  We have grown over the years from a childcare service for our community to a nursery school program for children from 18 months old through 5 years.  The program has limited scholarship funds to help families with special financial needs.  This assistance is made possible by fund-raisers, donations from friends of the program and St. Matthew's Parish Life Guild. 

We welcome and encourage parent involvement and participation.  Parents have helped in the past in a variety of ways: conducting art and music projects in our classrooms; reading books to the children; overseeing fundraisers; providing healthy snacks; serving on our Board of Directors; and on occasion, answering the office phone.
